Certain Steps (Project Update 2/2)

For those who don’t know, our focus is Massachusetts, and we recently saw a host of new gun laws change the landscape of what licensing and ownership looks like in the state.

The short version is at some point, there will be new course content and a live fire component required for licensing. In the meantime, the State Police have confirmed that current courses can be used to apply for a license, but that the additional requirements will apply down the line and those courses will need to be retaken, either within a certain time limit or in order to renew the LTC.

We were hopeful that the new requirements would be forthcoming and we could amend our classes accordingly, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case. Instead of delaying further, we will be resuming conventional LTC classes at locations in Western, Central, and MetroWest MA in the new year with plans to follow-up with students and give them the tools to retake the courses as needed when the time comes.

If you have already taken a course with us and applied for your LTC no further action is needed.

As mentioned in the first update we’re also aiming to provide supplementary courses on firearms topics like cleaning, assembly, and competitive shooting, as well as direct them to content on other community defense staples like First Aid.

We’ll see you soon.
