Uncertain Times (Project Update 1/2)

Hello all,

This comes after months of radio silence and a slowing pace of courses, but with an unprecedented amount of interest over the last week we wanted to be honest about the current state of things before moving forward.

This project started with well over a dozen active volunteers and close partnership with other organizations. As time went on and the pandemic waned, however, it was whittled down to rarely more than two doing the work of maintaining what there was to maintain, running courses, and continuing to pursue land for the project’s end goal.

To make matters more complicate, we were initially incorporated in another state by volunteers no longer involved in the project, and the process of legally and safely moving the funds between organizations has been incredibly long and frequently literally taxing.

But there is progress.

The funds are still safe, we are still working on options to get students to the range, and with the New Year we will be rolling out classes across the state. We will have a couple new training venues and finally be able to offer some of the more specialized content and deep dives we wanted to from the beginning. As soon as the funds and new incorporation are secured we will update this space with more details on land and plans.

The dream isn’t dead, but it’s certainly been delayed.

In the meantime, we’ll explain some of the delays in courses and content and what our next steps are on that front.
